Withrow Serenity, designed by Bosque Landscape Architects, blends modern landscape design with the quiet harmony of a mid-century Japanese Zen garden. Created for a Toronto residence, this thoughtfully curated outdoor living space integrates natural wood elements, textured stone, and clean architectural lines to create a calming residential landscape rooted in simplicity, balance, and timeless design principles. Inspired by traditional Japanese garden aesthetics, the layout emphasizes negative space, organic materials, and intentional sightlines that encourage reflection and relaxation—an intentional contrast to the pace of urban life in Toronto, Danforth community.
A sculptural natural-stone fireplace serves as the focal point of the backyard design, anchoring the garden’s serene atmosphere while adding warmth and functionality for year-round outdoor entertaining in Toronto’s changing seasons.
